This Pakistani Teenager Has Become World’s Third Highest Earning Gamer And It’s Insane

The world of e-sports witnessed a rising star when back in February 2015, Sumail Hassan, a Pakistani teenager helped his team ‘Evil Geniuses’ win the Defense of the Ancient 2 aka Dota 2 Asian Championship in China. Sumail ended up bagging $1.2 million in the aftermath of the win.

Hailing from Karachi, Sumail Hassan moved to the United States of America with his family in 2014. The migration turned out to be super beneficial for the child prodigy and Sumail was able to concentrate more on his gaming on a faster internet connection and consequently, attain more exposure to the world of gaming.

After putting on a stellar performance at the North America’s in-house gaming league, one of the biggest e-sports teams Evil Geniuses set their eyes on Sumail and eventually ended up recruiting him.

Sumail has never looked back ever since.

Before his 16th birthday, Sumail’s earnings amounted to no less than $200,000, as a professional gamer. 

Sumail Hassan begin palying Dota 2 when he was only seven years old. His entire family moved to USA in 2014 so that he could pursue his passion of becoming a professional player. Sumail is known as ‘Suma1L’ in the gaming world.

He has also made it to Time Magazine’s list of the most influential teenagers in 2016, along with another Pakistani Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai.

His recent win in a gaming tournament has helped him amass $2,401,560 thereby, making him the third highest earning gamer in the world of e-Sports.
