PEMRA & PML-N Want Action Against Hamza Ali Abbasi

Hamza Ali Abbasi the popular Pakistani celebrity of drama industry and also worked in the film industry. For some years he remains popular in politics department. But PEMRA want action against Hamza Ali Abbasi due to his pejorative remarks.

PEMRA send notice to Hamza Ali Abbasi show:

  • PEMRA has issued a notice to the private television channel BOL for its HQ Debate show. This show is hosted by Hamza Ali Abbasi and made derogatory remarks about the Pakistani Passport.
  • The authorities added that these insulting remarks about the nation passport will make hate among foreigners with a nation. This shows anti-Pakistan feelings and show is violating the media rules.
  • The authority departments want reply to their notice within a week else they will take action against Hamza Ali Abbasi. They also want channel CEO to appear for personal hearing else PEMRA will take legal action against the channel.

PMLN submitted resolution against Hamza Ali Abbasi show:

  • The tensions for Pakistani celebrity not ended with PEMRA as PML-N also wants to take legal action against him. A resolution is submitted to the Punjab Assembly to take action against Hamza Ali Abbasi for his passport comments.

MPA Hina Pervez Butt submitted this resolution saying that ‘No one is ready to take Pakistani citizenship. People that are against the development of Pakistan will use these words for a nation’.

  • She wants PEMRA to close these kinds of programs from the television that are against country’s integrity. PML-N MPA wants Hamza to apologize for his words as he damaged the country’s image with his words.
  • She said that it is our priority to respect Pakistan rather than commenting. We are representing the country’s value in front of the television screen and we must display a positive image.
  • Hamza Ali Abbasi made his comment on the passport as it isn’t really a most valuable piece of paper to have. He made his comments while talking about Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
