This fatwa came after few days when one person submitted a written question to a department. The person asks the question whether posting pictures of himself or his wife was un-Islamic or not. In the wake of his query came the fatwa saying that Islam doesn’t allow the act.

Fatwa for Muslim women can’t cut hair, groom eyebrows in Islam?

Earlier a month, Darul Uloom also issued another fatwa regarding women’s personal grooming. This fatwa bans the women from going to beauty parlors and grooms their eyebrows. Another Muslim man asked the question from the department of the instituted about women’s personality. He asked whether plucking, trimming, shaping their eyebrows is allowed in Islam?

In response to the question of the person, Darul Uloom put Fatwa to ban Muslim from going beauty parlors. They added if the Muslim women are involved in such a process then she is violating Islamic Laws.

The department added that there are 10 acts banned in Islam including eyebrows plucking and haircut. Hairs are the beauty of the women and they should never cut them. Muslim women should need to stay away from the beauty parlors and makeup that attracts other men towards them.

They cleared the fatwa both for Muslim men and women. Beard for men is important and in the same way hairs are important for women. Shaving the beard for men is prohibited and cutting the hair for women is prohibited in Islam.

The fact is that trend of going beauty parlor for Muslim women are growing in the country. It is not a good sign and it should be stopped as early as possible.

But many Muslim women don’t want to follow the new fatwa saying they have no right to curtail our freedom. It is shame on our Maulanas and scholars said, Sophia Ahmed.
